BREAKING: OPP re-opens highway after investigating serious semi-truck/pedestrian collision

Huron County OPP have re-opened a major highway after responding to a serious collision just south of Bayfield.

Bluewater Highway/Highway 21 was closed between Kippen Road and Staffa Road for the investigation. The crash involved a semi-truck and pedestrian. Police confirmed via X, formerly Twitter, that the road had re-opened just after 11:30 a.m.

Constable Craig Soldan has confirmed the pedestrian has been taken to London by paramedics. The injuries suffered were confirmed to be "serious but non-life-threatening," according to Constable Soldan.

The driver of the semi-truck was not physically injured.

Police added on X that no charges were anticipated in this incident.
