AMDSB ratifies employment agreement with ETFO occasional teachers

The Avon Maitland District School Board (AMDSB) and the Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario (ETFO) Occasional Teachers have ratified their tentative agreement.

The tentative agreement was reached on March 7.

AMDSB said the negotiation process kept students in mind.

"The ratification of this agreement underscores our collective focus on improved student outcomes," said Laura Marotta, Superintendent of Human Resource Services. "Our bargaining team extends genuine gratitude to the staff representatives on the bargaining teams for their steadfast dedication and collaborative spirit."

Kim Finlayson, President of ETFO Occasional Teachers also thanked her team for their contributions.

"The Collective Bargaining Team is pleased the Board recognized the importance of ongoing, professional learning for occasional teachers and the integral part this plays in curriculum delivery and student achievement," said Finlayson.

This wraps up the local part of the two-pronged contract talks, as per AMDSB. The central part is in the provincial arbitration process.
