Screams for help being investigated by OPP near Harriston Greenway Trail

Wellington OPP are looking to confirm the safety of a person who was heard screaming for help near Harriston Greenway Trail.

Police said at around 2:45 p.m. Sunday afternoon a person, who was possibly in distress on William Street West in Harriston was heard allegedly screaming for help in the distance.

Officers allege that a witness heard a woman's voice screaming.

OPP have not been able to identify or locate the person.

Police are looking to confirm the safety of the individual.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Wellington OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

A large police presence was around William Street West and the public was asked to avoid the area.
