Huron County resident wins $5M

A 54-year-old Brussels resident was in shock when she checked her Lotto 6/49 ticket and learned she won $5 million.

Sudsakorn (Connie) Terpstra was having coffee with her husband when she decided to check her tickets. That's when she realized she won the Classic Jackpot from the April 3, 2024 draw.

"I scanned my ticket using the OLG app and thought I won $5,000 at first," she said. "Then I said 'Wait, that's a lot of zeroes!' I couldn't believe it. I showed my husband and said, 'I won $5 million!'"

"I was in complete shock," she continued. "It doesn't feel real. It feels like a dream."

She wants to share her winnings with her children and grandchildren, pay some bills, and put the rest into savings for her retirement.

The winning ticket was purchased at Becker's on Goderich Street in Seaforth.
