Bruce County entrepreneurs get a leg up with starter program

Bruce County has graduated seven more companies from its Starter Company Plus program.

Each of the 2024 participants received eight weeks of training to help them launch a new business or expand an existing one. All companies also received a $5,000 grant through the Business to Bruce program.

This year's participants included: Revive and Heel in Lucknow, Attuned Therapy + Wellness in Kincardine, Northern Sustainable Farms in Tiverton, Artefact Landscapes in Southampton, Saugeen Valley Media in Paisley, and The WOMB and Junction 4 & 19 from Walkerton.

Since its launch in 2017, the Starter Company Plus program has provided grant funding to 62 entrepreneurs.

The program accepts applications in the fall.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
