Owen Sound man charged following vehicle theft

Grey Bruce OPP have laid charges against an Owen Sound man following an investigation into a vehicle theft in Meaford.

On April 22, just before 6:30 p.m., police received a call from a business on Stewart Street.

Upon arrival, police obtained video footage from a nearby business and found the vehicle through patrols.

A 29-year-old Owen Sound man now faces charges for possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of break in instruments, theft over $5,000 of a motor vehicle, driving while under suspension, and failure to comply with a probation order.

Grey Bruce OPP remind to keep the keys on you and lock the doors when you're not inside your vehicle.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
