Health unit looking for dog involved in incident in Wingham

Huron Perth Public Health is looking for a dog involved in a recent incident in Wingham.

According to HPPH, an incident involving a dog occurred on April 28 at 2 p.m. on the Wingham Community Trail, on the part of the trail by the North Huron Community Food Share building.

The dog involved in the incident is described as small, white, and possibly a Shih Tzu.  One female, described as having brown hair and wearing a navy blue windbreaker, was with the dog.  

HPPH is investigating this incident to check if the dog has up-to-date rabies vaccination.

HPPH reminds people to always obtain the contact information of the owners of the animal that is involved in an incident.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
