Police lay drug charges following search warrant

The Grey Bruce OPP Community Street Crimes Unit arrested two people following a drug investigation.

On May 1 just before 6 a.m., police executed a search warrant at a residence on Dawson Street in Wiarton.

During the search of the home, police found and seized quantities of cocaine, methamphetamine, fentanyl, and psilocybin along with drug paraphernalia. The combined estimated value of the seized controlled substances is $600.

As a result, a 21-year-old and a 56-year-old, both from Wiarton, are both facing numerous drug charges.

The accused parties were released and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on June 13.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
