Chesley ER closed Monday

Another local hospital is having to temporarily close its emergency department.

South Bruce Grey Health Centre (SBGHC) announced on Monday morning that the emergency department at the hospital in Chesley will be closed for the day.

The closure is the result of "insufficient nursing staffing," according to SBGHC.

The emergency department will reopen at 7 a.m. Tuesday.

"Anyone requiring immediate medical attention should call 911 to be taken to the nearest Emergency Department. For non-urgent health care needs, Health Connect Ontario is available 24/7 for non-emergency health-related questions by calling 811," SBGHC said in Monday's statement.
