UPDATE: Stratford Beer Store fire deemed suspicious

The Stratford Police and the Stratford Fire Department say the fire that closed the Beer Store in the city's west end is now deemed suspicious.

Emergency services responded to a call of a fire at the Huron Street store shortly after midnight on Monday, March 6.

The neighbouring Tim Hortons was also evacuated as a precaution while fire crews got the blaze under control.

The store remains closed, after the city's building department issued an Unsafe Order on the structure.

Police are appealing to the public for tips.

Anyone who was in the area around the time of the fire that has any information is asked to contact police at 519-271-4141 or report anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
