ACW offering look at new Passive House in Dungannon

The Township of Ashfield-Colbourne-Wawanosh is inviting the community to get a look at its new Passive House before completion.

The Dungannon Passive House Project has been years in the making and the town says its set to redefine sustainable living in the area.

A concept designed to minimize energy consumption, the house is said to use passive solar gain, superior insulation, and airtight construction to maintain a comfortable climate year-round with minimal reliance on heating and cooling.

The town is inviting those who are curious to check out the house mid-construction, to learn more about the process of building a high performance home.

The open house will run Sunday, May 26, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 89 Isobel Street.

Those attending are asked to RSVP with Sommers Brothers Construction.
