Police warning of door chimney repair fraud

The Grey Bruce OPP are warning residents of a recent fraud in Meaford.

On May 22, police received two reports that an individual was going door-to-door in Meaford asking to fix or clean chimneys. The individual is described as male, driving a red dodge pick up truck.

Police have been told that the suspect in question provides ID and a phone number, but after receiving a deposit for work, the suspect disappears and does not return calls.

Police believe that there are more victims and are asking them to come forward. The Grey Bruce OPP continue to investigate.
