MPP announces Connecting Link funding

Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MPP Rick Byers has announced funding for local road projects.

$5.7 million is being invested through the province's Connecting Links program. $2.7 million of that will help with the rehabilitation of 9th Avenue East from Superior Street to 6th Street East in Owen Sound along Highway 6 and 10.

Additionally, $3 million has been earmarked for the reconstruction of Berford Street from George Street to Elm Street, including traffic signal replacement at Frank Street in South Bruce Peninsula along Highway 6.

A connecting link is a designated municipal road or bridge that connects two ends of a provincial highway through a community, or to an international border crossing.

This year, the Ontario government is investing $30 million in 21 projects to repair roads and bridges in 19 municipalities across the province.
