Connecting Links funding announced by MPP

Perth-Wellington MPP Matthew Rae has announced funding to support local road work.

The province is providing $1 million in Connecting Links funding to Rae's riding. The money will go towards the resurfacing of Mitchell Road South Highway 23 in Listowel.

Money was also announced in the Halton Hills region of Wellington County.

A connecting link is a designated municipal road or bridge that connects two ends of a provincial highway through a community, or to an international border crossing. This year, the Ontario government is investing $30 million in 21 projects to repair roads and bridges in 19 municipalities across the province.

“Maintaining and building new roads are essential to connecting our rural communities,” MPP Rae said. “They are vital to for people getting to jobs, health care services, and getting goods to domestic and international markets. I will continue to work with our municipal partners to advocate for our rural communities to ensure they receive their fair share of provincial infrastructure funding.”
