OPP cruiser involved in crash

An OPP cruiser and officer were involved in a crash in Collingwood.

Blue Mountains OPP confirmed in a release that on May 30 at 2:45 p.m., an OPP patrol cruiser was en route to a service call when a crash occurred between the cruiser and a civilian vehicle.

The crash happened at the intersection of Peel Street and Hume Street in Collingwood. The intersection was closed until 10 p.m. on May 30 while an investigation took place.

The OPP officer driving the cruiser and the civilian driver both suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash and they were both taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The investigation is ongoing.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
