High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

One person has died as a result of a serious single-vehicle crash on Amberley Road in Huron-Kinloss.On June 5 at 9:44 p.m., South Bruce OPP received reports of a vehicle driving into Lake Huron from the road.Emergency services arrived, pulled the driver from the vehicle, and attempted lifesaving measures.An 88-year-old person from Mississauga was taken to hospital, where they were pronounced dead.The investigation is still ongoing. Amberley Road was closed through the night but has since reopened.Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact South Bruce OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
