One person arrested following child luring investigation

South Bruce OPP have arrested and charged one person following an investigation into child luring and child pornography.

Police say the South Bruce OPP Crime Unit began an investigation after receiving a report of a male who used a social media site to request a sexually explicit photo of a teenaged female. 

One June 19, officers arrested and charged a 29-year-old from Peterborough. The individual is now facing 3 counts of adult luring a person under 16 years of age by means of telecommunications and possession of child pornography.

The accused was taken into custody where they appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice. The name of the charged party is being withheld due to the restrictions of a court-ordered publication ban.

South Bruce OPP is reminding the public to communicate with youth about the danger of online communication with unknown individuals.
