High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

Hanover police services have arrested a 23-year-old woman for breaching bail and obstructing justice.According to Police Chief Christopher Knoll, officers located the woman walking with someone with whom she was on a court order not to communicate with.Knoll said upon further investigation police discovered the Hanover woman was attempting to influence a Crown witness in her case.The suspect remains in custody and is scheduled for a bail hearing later Sunday afternoon.Knoll reminds the public that influencing or coaching witnesses on their testimony against you is a serious criminal offence.
