High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

Wellington County OPP have arrested and charged one person following a drug bust.On June 19, a patrolling OPP officer allegedly spotted an individual in a silver sedan trafficking a controlled substance on the Main Street of Mount Forest around 11:15 p.m.Following an investigation, police arrested a 58-year-old Mount Forest native and charged the accused with Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Methamphetamine and Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Methamphetamine, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on July 23. Officers seized nearly $100,000 in drugs, trafficking equipment and cash.Anyone with any information regarding this incident should contact Wellington County OPP or Crime Stoppers.
