One person has been arrested and is facing a lengthy list of charges following a multi-jurisdictional OPP investigation that led to hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of stolen property seized.
Members of the Huron Perth OPP Community Street Crimes Unit made the arrest on June 17 with assistance from Halton Regional Police.
OPP investigators conducted search warrants at a storage facility in West Perth and a rural property on Highway 10 in Grey Highlands on June 18 and June 19, respectively.
Officers recovered over $600,000 of stolen property at both locations. Stolen items included heavy equipment, tools, numerous vehicles, trailers, firearms and outdoor recreational vehicles.
Property was stolen from Perth County, Bruce County, Huron County, Oxford County and Middlesex County.
A 32-year old from Grey Highlands is now facing numerous charges including possession of property obtained by crime, fraudulent concealment, possession of a firearm and many others.
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing. The investigation is ongoing.
Police advise that anyone who may have rented equipment from Dark Diamond Construction, or who may have information that can assist with this investigation are encouraged to contact the Perth County OPP or Crime Stoppers.
