Stolen vehicles recovered by police

Police have arrested and charged three people following the theft of multiple vehicles.

On July 7 just before 7 a.m., Grey Bruce OPP received a report that vehicles belonging to the Municipality of Grey Highlands were stolen from a property in Grey Highlands.

Investigators determined that the suspects gained access to the building through the main doors and located keys for the vehicles. The vehicles each had a GPS tracking system equipped and the complainant was able to track two of the vehicles to a property on Story Book Park Road in the Municipality of Meaford. Police arrested two individuals there.

Later that morning, the GPS tracking system located the third stolen vehicle in Amaranth Township. Dufferin County OPP attempted to stop the vehicle, but the suspect escaped. The individual was later arrested by Wellington County OPP in Hillsburgh.

All three individuals are facing numerous charges including flight from a police officer, possession of stolen property, and drug possession.

The accused were held pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound.
