Collision along Hwy 21 claims one

A collision between a passenger vehicle and a motorcycle north of Goderich Saturday afternoon resulted in the death of a local.

Huron County OPP say emergency services responded to a report of a crash along Hwy 21 in in Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh around 1:40 p.m.

The driver of the motorcycle sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to local hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.

Police said the deceased is a 74-year-old resident of Goderich, but did not release their identity.

The highway is closed between Blyth and MTO Roads as members from the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) investigate.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
