Crash sends five to hospital

A two-vehicle collision in Owen Sound has sent five people to hospital.

According to police, on Sunday, July 7 at approximately 8 p.m. a collision occurred at the intersection of 8th Avenue East and 20th Street East.

A Kia traveling westbound on 20th Street had the right of way and was struck by a Volkswagen traveling south. Both vehicles suffered significant damage.

The two female occupants of the Volkswagen were transported to hospital by ambulance, with one having serious but not life-threatening injuries.

The three occupants of the other vehicle were transported to hospital, but it is not known how serious the injuries are.

The driver of the Volkswagen, an 80-year-old female has been charged with careless driving and driving without a valid license.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
