One person arrested after recovery of stolen vehicle

Police have arrested and charged one person after a stolen vehicle was recovered alongside weapons.

On July 10 just after 1 a.m., Perth County OPP stopped a vehicle on Quebec Street in Mitchell. 

During the investigation, officers determined that the vehicle had been reported stolen in Waterloo Region. The driver was arrested, and during a search of the vehicle, weapons were allegedly located, as well.

As a result, the 32-year-old Wallaceburg native is now facing numerous charges including possession of property obtained by crime and fraudulent concealment.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
