Pair arrested in South Bruce hay wagon theft

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say two people are charged following the theft of a hay wagon on Wednesday.

Police received a call shortly after 10 a.m. from a location in Arran Township, in the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie.

Officers learned that a hay wagon and straw bales were stolen.

Following an investigation, the stolen property, valued at $10,000, was recovered on the 4th Concession Road of Arran Township.

A man and a woman are each charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000.

The charges have not been proven in court. The suspects will have a chance to respond to the counts in a future court date.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
