Road closures expected in Mildmay

Bruce County is asking motorists for patience as road rehabilitation work gets underway on Bruce Road 6E (Absalom St E), from George Street to Kleist Street, in Mildmay.

On Monday, July 29, workers will begin the rehabilitation of storm sewers, sanitary sewers, and watermains along with the patching of sidewalks, extension of concrete curbs, and road resurfacing.

Drivers can expect daily road closures from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. until October 2024. The section of Bruce Road 6E being repaired will remain open to local traffic only. Residents will face minor disruptions during the project, such as laneway access and a minor period of water shut off to affected residents. Notices will be provided 24 hours in advance.

Signage will be in place during the road closure. Users are asked to use alternate routes, to be patient, and drive safely.

Bruce County and the Municipality of South Bruce are partnering on the project.

Kurtis Smith Excavating Inc. has been awarded the Bruce Road 6E Rehabilitation work. BM Ross and Associates are conducting the contract administration and inspection of the work.
