Crash in Arran-Elderslie leads to impaired driving charge

A 22-year-old Brantford man has been charged with impaired driving after a single-vehicle crash in the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie.

South Bruce OPP were called about a vehicle that was swerving as it travelled along Bruce Road 3 around 11:50 p.m. on Saturday. By the time officers located the vehicle, it had veered off the road and crashed in the ditch.

No injuries were reported.

Officers alleged the driver had been drinking alcohol and took him for a breath test that was administered by a qualified breath technician.

A 22-year-old man is charged with driving while impaired and impaired driving with a blood alcohol concentration 80 plus.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
