Pair charged in stolen vehicle crash from 2021

More than two years after a stolen vehicle was found crashed on a rural road in the Municipality of Kincardine, charges have been laid against two people.

South Bruce OPP launched an investigation into the incident on December 18, 2021. It was on that date police found the vehicle, which had been reported stolen, abandoned and heavily damaged after a crash on Albert Road. Police got a warrant to have the vehicle forensically examined. Through that, a driver was identified and another warrant was sought and granted, this one for the medical records of the suspected driver.

On Tuesday, police announced two arrests have been made in the case.

A 29-year-old from the Municipality of Kincardine is charged with two impaired driving-related offences and a 50-year-old from the Municipality of Kincardine is charged with obstructing a peace officer.

Both of the accused are scheduled to appear in court on a later date, police said.
