Transit service to increase price for monthly passes

A local transit service will be raising the price for a monthly pass to utilize its services.

Huron Shores Area Transit says that starting on September 1, the price of a monthly pass will go from $80 to $100 as the first part of a two-stage pricing increase that will see the cost increase to $120 on January 1, 2025.

HSAT says that the rise in price is "based on ensuring sustainability and to better align the discount level with that recommended in the feasibility study."

It also claims that even at a $120 price point, the Huron Shores Area Transit Monthly Pass will still be the most affordable in the area when compared with other transit services, which the release claims "average $148 per month."

Huron Shores Area Transit provides service to Bluewater, Kettle & Stony Point First Nation, Lambton Shores, North Middlesex, and South Huron, connecting those communities to each other and Sarnia, London, Goderich, and Strathroy.
