MPP looking for nominations for King Charles III Coronation Medals

Perth-Wellington MPP Matthew Rae is seeking nominations for King Charles III Coronation Medals.

The medals are meant to recognize "outstanding individuals who have made significant differences in their local communities or the country," according to a release from Rae's office.

In May of 2023, the federal government announced that 30,000 of the medals would be created for the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III, King of Canada.

Now, MPP Rae is asking the public to put forth nominations. Anyone nominated should be someone who made significant contributions to Canada, Ontario or their local communities. This includes but is not limited to first responders and frontline workers, veterans and veteran organizations, community leaders, volunteers and more.

Eligible candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Have made significant contributions to the country, Ontario, region or community, or an achievement abroad that brings credit to Canada, and

  • Be alive on 6 May 2023. The Coronation Medal can be bestowed posthumously, as long as the candidate was alive on the date of the coronation.

  • Reside in Perth-Wellington

Nominations are open until the 9th of September and will be accepted both online and in-person at MPP Rae’s constituency office.

Nominations can be submitted online here: https://bit.ly/4fEefpq OR in-person at:

55 Lorne Ave. E, Unit 2

Stratford ON, N5A 6S4
