One person injured as horse collides with truck in Tiverton

South Bruce OPP say one person suffered serious, but not life-threatening injuries, after a horse collided with a truck in Tiverton yesterday.

Around 10 a.m. on August 8, police responded to King Street in the Municipality of Kincardine.

Investigation determined that two horses were being ridden by their owners northbound on King Street. One horse was spooked by nearby construction which caused it to run into traffic, where it was struck by a southbound vehicle.

The rider of the horse was taken to hospital.

The road was closed for several hours as police investigated.

OPP are reminding drivers to slow down and move over for vulnerable road users such as horses, horse and buggy, bicycles and tractors.
