Embrace diversity at Hindu Open House

The Municipality of Kincardine will celebrate diversity, culture and unity during the third annual Hindu Culture Open House.

The free event will take place in Victoria Park from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2024.

Activities include a vibrant parade around the park, yoga and meditation, interactive exhibits, traditional food, music and dancing.

There will also be a chance to experience Hindu Customs and traditions such as tying friendship bands, getting Henna paintings, and trying on colorful dresses.

Founding member of Kincardine Multicultural Celebrations, Chandra Tripathi, hopes to continue to cultivate pride and appreciation for Indo-Canadian residents in Huron, Grey, and Bruce counties.

“What better way to meet your neighbours than to share in an exciting afternoon of great music and delicious food?” she added.

This event is hosted by the Swajan Samanvay Sanatan Centre (SSSC), Municipality of Kincardine, Bruce County, Bruce Power, and the Grey Bruce Local Immigration Partnership (GBLIP).
