'It's such a shock': Owen Sound woman wins over $207K

An Owen Sound woman has some extra cash to spoil her grandchildren and great-grandchildren after taking the second prize in a recent Lotto 6/49 draw.

Susan Ward won $207,214.20 in the July 13 draw. The Owen Sound resident has been playing the lottery for as long as she can remember and always picks numbers that hold a special significance for her family. Despite that, this is Ward's first big win.

“I checked my ticket on the self-checker at the store, and suddenly, I froze,” Ward said while picking up her winnings at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto. “It’s safe to say I was shocked. I almost had to put my glasses on to double-check that it was real.”

Ward said she told her family of the win and they were "so happy" for her.

“It’s such a shock, but it’s a great feeling overall," said Ward.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Circle K on Sykes Street in Meaford.
