No injuries reported after pickup truck slams into house

A charge of careless driving has been laid after a crash that left a pickup truck partially wedged inside of a house in Zurich.

The white pickup slammed into the side of the home on Goshen Street North, causing extensive damage around 5:20 p.m. on Monday.

Fortunately, no one was inside the residence at the time and the truck driver was not hurt, Huron OPP said.

It's unclear whether the crash caused any structural damage to the house.

Police said while the driver was not impaired, alcohol was a factor in the collision.

A 42-year-old from Greely is charged with one count of careless driving.
