UPDATE: One person in custody after police situation in Gorrie

A large police presence in Gorrie has ended, with one person arrested.

Police confirmed via "X", formerly Twitter, just after 1 p.m. on Thursday that there was an "increased police presence" in Gorrie in Howick Township.

The post stated there was no risk to public safety.

Police reported shortly before 6:30 p.m. on Thursday that one person is in custody and all road closures have ended.
