Local radio stations holding "Stuff the Bus" event to support United Way backpack program

The three stations at CKNX in Wingham are holding an event to support United Way Bruce Grey's Backpack Program.

From Friday, August 23 through Sunday August 25, CKNX AM920, 101.7 TheOne and 94.5 Classic Rock will be at Grant’s Your Independent Grocer in Hanover to collect cash donations and school supplies to help with the annual backpack program put on by United Way Grey Bruce.

The program continues to be in high demand and a significant strain is put on United Way Grey Bruce to help facilitate all the requests for fully stocked backpacks for students in the region.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
