Local family needs support after horrific shooting

The organizer of a Go Fund Me campaign hopes to raise $50,000 to support his daughter following a deadly and life-altering neighbourhood dispute in Stratford in August.

David Irvine of Inverhuron explained that a neighbourhood dispute turned tragic for his daughter's family in Stratford on the evening of August 1.

During a summer gathering, a neighbour opened fire on several people, resulting in the death of a young man, Johnny Bennett, and leaving his partner, Stephanie Irvine, with life-altering injuries.

The couple's three children now face a future without their father and with a mother who will require long-term care, including physical therapy, medical appointments, and ongoing treatment.

The family will need financial support for an extended period to cover medical bills, household expenses, rent, and food.

Irvine said any donation is greatly appreciated to assist the family in their recovery.
