Two-vehicle crash sends two people to hospital

Two people were seriously hurt in a crash between a sedan and a pickup south of Meaford on Thursday.

Emergency crews were called to the two-vehicle collision on Grey Road 40 at 7th Line in Grey Highlands just before 2:30 p.m.

Two occupants from the sedan, suffering from serious injuries, had to be taken to hospital for treatment. The third person in the sedan was taken to the hospital as a precaution, while the truck occupant had minor injuries.

The crash shut down the Grey Road 40 between Grey Road 12 and Grey Road 7 and the 7th Line between Euphrasia St Vincent Townline and Side Road 25 for several hours. The roadways have since been reopened.

Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash and ask anyone with information to call investigators at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
