A joint police R.I.D.E. program checked 860 drivers in the Owen Sound area on Saturday, but only two resulted in citations.
The Owen Sound Police Service (OSPS) partnered with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Saugeen Shores, Hanover and West Grey Police Services over the weekend to focus on impaired driving as well as related offences.
In a release, OSPS said that a majority of drivers followed Ontario's drinking and driving laws and other rules of the road.
Police did suspend the licence of one driver after he registered a "warning" during a roadside test.
A second driver failed the test and was arrested. The 60-year-old Owen Sound man was taken to OSPS headquarters for further testing. According to police, the man's breath test showed he had more than double the legal limit of alcohol in his system.
This was the man's second impaired charge this year. He is facing multiple charges and his licence has been suspended for 90 days.
The man was released from police custody with a future court date.
