Applications for Brockton's council vacancy due Monday

Those interested in joining Brockton council only have a few more days to apply.

The Municipality has had a vacancy on council since former Deputy Mayor James Lang resigned. His seat was declared vacant by council on June 18, and Kym Hutcheon was appointed to the role on July 9.

Hutcheon's council seat was declared vacant the following meeting, on August 13.

Those interested in applying must complete a Council Vacancy Application Form, a Freedom of Information (FOI) Release Form and personal statement of qualification, and submit the documents in person to the Municipal Clerk.

The deadline to apply is 2 p.m. on September 16.

So far, Steven Travale, Robin Zettel, Rhonda Mauer, and Jason Zister have thrown their hats in the ring.

Once applications close, there will be an opportunity for candidates to present to Brockton Council at a Special Council Meeting on Tuesday, October 1 at 7 p.m.
