Wellington County Museum wins Ontario Choice Award

The Wellington County Museum and Archives was named one of the top attractions in the province at the 2024 Ontario’s Choice Awards.

The Fergus institution was named the Top Small Museum/Art Gallery/Historic Site in a ceremony in Toronto on Monday.

Winners in each category are determined solely by a public vote.

"We are immensely proud to be recognized as the Top Small Museum/Art Gallery/Historic Site," said Mary Lloyd, Information, Heritage and Seniors Chair. "To be on a short list of winners that includes the Aga Khan Museum and the Toronto Zoo reflects the dedication of our team and the ongoing support of our visitors and community. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who voted for us and helped us achieve this honour."

The WCMA was also nominated for the Top Museum/Art Gallery/Historic Site category.

Ontario Choice Awards will reveal the overall Attraction of the Year Award at the Ontario Tourism Summit Awards Gala in October.
