Police seize drugs, weapons, vehicles, and cash

Two people have been arrested and charged after a search warrant turned up drugs, weapons, and over $100,000 worth of stolen property.

The Huron-Perth and Grey-Bruce OPP Community Street Crimes Units conducted an investigation alongside Huron County OPP and other policing units that led to a search warrant being executed on Huron-Bruce Road.

On September 10, officers arrived at the rural property and saw a newer model vehicle driving off into a field, which damaged crops as the driver tried to evade police. The suspect vehicle, which was determined to be stolen, hit a tree stump, severely damaging the vehicle, and the lone driver was found and arrested.

Investigators found a 9mm revolver and 9mm ammunition that had been tossed from the vehicle. The vehicle itself contained methamphetamine, $1,300 in Canadian currency, a prohibited knife, and a container of exploding rifle mix.

At the residence, police discovered another stolen vehicle and arrested a second suspect. A search warrant that was executed later on the property saw police seize more weapons, stolen property, and other offence-related items. The total value of all seized items is $123,000.

As a result, a 40-year-old and 45-year-old, both from South Bruce, are facing a lengthy list of charges.
