Applications are being accepted to fill a trustee vacancy with the Avon Maitland District School Board (AMDSB).
Although the vacancy is in Perth East, the successful candidate needs only to live within Huron or Perth counties and not Perth East specifically.
"Our trustees play a vital role in overseeing the focus in our education system as related to our Strategic Plan," said Director of Education Graham Shantz. "They are individuals who are passionate about public education and they advocate for student achievement and well-being."
The application and interview process is now open.
“We encourage anyone interested in this position to learn more about the role and to submit an application before the October 17 deadline,” said Chair of the Board, Robert Hunking.
There are nine trustees for AMDSB, representing a geographical portion of the district and the schools within.
The seat of former Trustee David Briant was declared vacant.
