Fire that displaced Southampton family suspicious

Saugeen Shores police are looking for witnesses to a suspicious fire that displaced a family in Southampton.

Firefighters were called to the burning home on Victoria Street between Morpeth and Palmerston streets around 2:15 a.m. last Thursday. Crews were able to extinguish the fire with no injuries reported.

While a damage estimate has not been provided, police have said the fire was severe enough that the residents temporarily cannot return to the home.

The cause of the fire on the residential street is considered suspicious, police said.
