Wingham Golf and Curling Club members reportedly vote to sell

The Wingham Golf and Curling Club (WGCC) appears to be on the verge of making a significant decision regarding its future.

An email acquired by CKNXNewsToday.ca that was sent to board members shows a recent vote saw membership overwhelmingly vote in favor of selling the club. Out of the 115 members who participated, 96 voted to sell, while 19 were opposed.

"The current Board of Directors will remain in place until the sale is finalized," the email said. "They will be meeting in the coming days to determine next steps and will continue to communicate with the membership throughout the process."

As part of this transition, the club will close its facilities, including the golf course, to members on Saturday, October 12, 2024. A "final event" is scheduled for October 13.

This is a developing story.
