Paisley woman charged with impaired after single-vehicle crash

Alcohol is alleged to have been a factor in a crash that left a vehicle on its side in a ditch southwest of Clinton.

Huron OPP were called about the vehicle in the ditch on Bayfield Road near Airport Line in the Municipality of Central Huron shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Sunday. When officers arrived the vehicle was on its side with the driver still trapped inside.

The driver, who was not hurt, was freed from the vehicle and arrested for suspected impaired driving. They were taken to the OPP detachment in Clinton for a sobriety test. The breath samples provided showed the driver had more than the legal amount of alcohol in her system, police said.

A 32-year-old woman from Paisley is charged with impaired driving, careless driving, and driving with no permit. Her vehicle was impounded for seven days and her licence has been suspended for 90 days.

The woman is scheduled to appear in Goderich court in relation to the charges on November 4.
