Brockton holds first council meeting with new member

Council for the Municipality of Brockton held its first meeting this week with its new councillor.

Steven Travale was appointed to the vacant council seat in a unanimous vote at a special meeting on October 1.

In total, six people applied for the open position. Council had the vacancy since Deputy Mayor James Lang resigned in late June.

Travale previously announced his candidacy for local council in the 2022 election, before he says work commitments forced him to drop out.

He says he is currently serving as President of the Walkerton Kinsmen Club and volunteers on the board of directors of Saugeen Hospice.

The town says video for council's Tuesday meeting is not available due to technical difficulties in the Bruce County Council Chambers.
