West Grey man charged after stolen ATV crashes

An ATV crash helped police track down a man wanted by both the West Grey and Hanover police services.

A person called West Grey police on Monday to report that a man may have been involved in an ATV crash in the area. Police went to the spot where the crash was alleged to have happened and after a lengthy search found the man. Police did not specify where exactly the crash occurred.

Further investigation by officers determined the ATV involved had been reported stolen from a West Grey address.

A 26-year-old man was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property.

Warrants had previously been issued for the man in relation to separate investigations by West Grey and Hanover police for possession of stolen property, flight from police and dangerous driving, police said.

The man was held pending a bail hearing.
