One person arrested following assault investigation

Huron County OPP have arrested one person following an investigation into an August assault.

Police say a "serious assault" occurred in Goderich on August 31. Officers were informed of the assault in September.

Officers began an investigation into the incident, and on October 12, one person was arrested.

The accused, a 38-year-old man from Goderich, has been charged with aggravated assault and fail to comply with probation order.

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing where he was remanded into custody awaiting a further court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
