Grey County calls for continued transit funding

Grey County Council is supporting a call for improved public transit funding.

The county’s regional bus service, Grey Transit Route, relies on provincial funding, which is set to expire in March.

The county was asked to approve a motion from the South Central Ontario Region Economic Development Corporation requesting that the Ontario government continue to support Southwest Community Transit, which includes several rural transportation services, including in Grey County.

Grey County Council urges the provincial government to continue funding Southwest Community Transit beyond March 2025 to ensure the ongoing viability of this essential service for small, urban and rural Ontario.

The motion will be shared with local MPs and MPPs, municipalities, and stakeholders for their support and advocacy.
